thoughts?
I need some guidance, ladies. I received a comment from My So-Called (TTC) Life earlier today in response to my “actively trying” post and I’ve been thinking about it. Basically, I’m wondering if I need to go see an RE (reproductive endocrinologist).
First off, let me just get it out of the way that after reading her comment, I asked myself what the harm was in even...

One of the best parts of our vacation was our lack of sense of time. Joe and I don’t wear watches, relying pretty much on our phones to tell us time. Well, since we weren’t using our phones in Europe (another one of the best parts) and kept them off most of the time to conserve battery life, we found ourselves wondering if it was 8am, or maybe 10am, or even noon. We would then listen...

actively trying
I mentioned in my previous post that I’m ready to try again, and today I created a schedule. After I got my period in June I threw timing sex out the window. There were just too many things happening and I wanted to be able to do all of them. But now I’m re-introducing actively trying-to-conceive back into my life. I will give it 3 cycles (this one, Nov/Dec, and Dec/Jan), and if...

I feel rejuvenated, centered. After 11 days traipsing around Europe and feeling indeed like a jet-setter, I’m glad to be home.
I had the most wonderful time, which to be honest is actually a surprise to me because just a couple of weeks before we left I really just wasn’t in the greatest of moods. I was excited, but also apprehensive because Joe and I have been bickering leading up to...
I just got home from dropping the dogs off at my coworker’s for the next 2 weeks! This house feels so empty and quiet…I almost don’t even know what to do with myself! Joe is on a business trip (he gets back before we have to be at the airport tomorrow) so I’m all by my lonesome. Come to think of it, this is the only time in the 3 years we’ve had dogs that I...

The only thing keeping me in the office right now is waiting for my iPhone to finish syncing so I’ll have all my music for my traveling. I’ve turned all my away messages and put an extended absence greeting on my phone. I’m really quite officially on vacation!
I know it’s one more work day left but I am totally in vacation mode. I just wanna leave already! I’ve done 3 loads of laundry, wrote out my packing list, put together all the dogs’ things to take to my girlfriend’s, and I’ve been checking the weather in Munich everyday. Work hasn’t been as hectic as it usually is before vacation and I wonder if it’s just...
My fertility predictor app on my iPhone forecasted high fertility over this past weekend. Since I’m a fan of knowing when to expect AF, I went ahead and checked my temp this morning and yes, it’s elevated. I also checked it over the last couple days, although not consistently at the same time, and I think I may very well have ovulated over the weekend (yay for regular, albeit super...
Cannot believe it is the eve of my TEN-MILER!! Aaahhhh!!! Ok, must go to sleep…
The weekend is upon us again, and on the agenda are:
an airshow with the foster boy
mom’s 50th birthday bash
my first ever 10-mile race
endless mimosas afterward
packing for Europe (with intermittent bursts of excited dancing and jumping up and down)
Joe’s at a bachelor party all weekend, which is great. I really think we need a weekend apart to truly enjoy 2 weeks of just each...

This time next week will be my last day at work before my big trip. I can’t believe it’s here, especially since we purchased tickets back in April and September just seemed so far away.
I’ve been looking forward for this trip in the last month. Work has been horridly busy and it seems like each and everyone of my colleagues have taken extra days off to enjoy the last days of...
weekend in review:
Friday: happy hour with a girlfriend which lasted until past 10pm
Saturday: spent the gloriously warm day in a boat on the Delta, watched Shutter Island
Sunday: woke up and ran 5 miles (while having a conversation the whole time!) and then to a barbecue, ending the evening with bowling
Monday: cleaned the house, ran 6 miles, prepped for a barbecue at home, enjoyed the company of good friends
I...
I'd rather do too much than too little.
This is what I’ve decided after having to fix innumerable f*ck-ups at work today. Cannot wait for happy hour.
be mine
The more I think about it, the more I want to just move in already! What I love about this house is that it’s one-story. The listing doesn’t have the best pictures, and it actually doesn’t have pictures of the inside at all, but it is oh so perfect. Even the current wall colors in there already work with the color palette we have in our condo now! And the tub. Oh the tub....
half the battle?
The seller is signing our offer today. There are 2 banks (2 loans) involved, and the bigger bank has agreed to the terms of the smaller bank, so now we wait for the bigger bank’s approval! I have no idea how long this may take, but our realtor said 30-60 days, then 30 days for escrow, which would then put us to moving around Thanksgiving, definitely before Christmas! A new home just in time...
Ok, the offer’s in. Now we wait. Story of my life :) I read online that it could take 2 weeks to 2 MONTHS to see if they’ve accepted an offer for a short sale. Ok then! In 2 months, it’ll be HALLOWEEN!
Lovely, lovely AUGUST
September?! ALREADY??? I guess so.
What I loved in August:
1) Wine-tasting with coworkers
2) Having more work!
3) Getting back into my early morning gym routine
4) Amazon.com’s mp3 store
5) discovering figs (nope, had not had one before August 24! only Fig Newtons, and I know those don’t count)
6) discovering Ray LaMontagne, thanks to Lindsay
7) finally jumping on the Greek...
